Claude Code's 50% weekly quota boost (Pro, Max, Team, and Enterprise) was extended through August 31 — and for the first time, Anthropic said they want to make it a permanent plan change.
The 50% weekly usage increase was originally due to expire today. On August 18, @ClaudeDevs announced another extension through August 31 and said they "hope to make this a permanent change to our plans." Previous extension announcements were framed as capacity-driven one-offs; this one explicitly names permanence as the goal, though Anthropic adds that strong model demand means they cannot commit to a timeline.
In practice: your weekly token budget remains 1.5× documented plan limits through at least month-end. If you were pacing large multi-agent pipeline runs against the weekly cap, that constraint is lifted.
Limit: The five-hour per-session rate limits (permanently doubled in May) are a separate constraint this extension does not affect. Permanence is not confirmed — the next decision point is August 31.
Why it matters: Multi-agent Claude Code workflows you've been throttling against weekly quota limits have two more weeks — and this bump may become the new baseline.
