Anthropic's Claude Slack app goes offline August 3 for orgs that haven't migrated to Claude Tag; GitHub Copilot Enterprise admins have until August 26 to configure model policy or new GA models auto-enable.

Claude Tag migration — act today: Anthropic replaced its original Claude-in-Slack app with Claude Tag on June 23 — a persistent, channel-scoped AI teammate running on Opus 4.8. Enterprise and Team plan orgs that haven't migrated lose Slack-based Claude access on August 3 (tomorrow). The migration requires a Primary Owner or Owner role (plain Admin cannot trigger it), and permissions don't transfer one-to-one — you'll need to re-scope channel access, tool connections, and spend caps from scratch. GitHub Copilot default model enablement — review by Aug 26: Starting July 29, GitHub introduced a policy for Copilot Business and Enterprise: any model that reaches general availability will be on by default for all users without requiring admin action. The policy activates August 26. If you want to control which models your org can access, go to enterprise/org model settings now and set the policy to disabled. Note: open-weight models (DeepSeek, Kimi K2.7) and Fable 5 are excluded from auto-enable regardless of policy.

Why it matters: Missing the Claude Tag cutover kills Slack access; not auditing the Copilot setting means newly released models start appearing in your team's IDEs without a review cycle.
