Three agentic AI tools expanded their reach today: Claude Cowork lands on mobile and web, GitHub's Copilot app opens to all plans including Free, and HuggingFace open-weight models are now deployable on Azure Foundry managed compute.
Claude Cowork goes mobile. Anthropic's Cowork platform — which runs long-horizon agentic tasks while you're away — expanded from desktop-only to the Claude web interface and mobile app sidebar, rolling out to Max subscribers first. Sessions persist across devices; tasks run unattended even when no devices are online. Anthropic also doubled usage limits through August 5.
GitHub Copilot app goes free. The Copilot desktop app (macOS/Windows/Linux) is now available on every plan — including Free and GitHub Education — not just paid tiers. Users without a Copilot subscription can BYOK (bring your own API key) to point it at any model provider. This removes the subscription barrier for persistent agentic coding sessions entirely.
HuggingFace models on Azure Foundry. Open-weight models from the HuggingFace Hub are now deployable on Microsoft Azure Foundry's managed compute (A100/H100/MI300X). Microsoft handles infrastructure, security screening, and CVE patching; backends include vLLM, SGLang, and TensorRT-LLM with an OpenAI-compatible API — no GPU cluster management required.
Why it matters: The floor for agentic AI tooling dropped today on two fronts. For Anthropic users, Cowork async tasks are now truly mobile-first. For GitHub users, the BYOK Copilot app removes the subscription barrier entirely — expect team adoption to accelerate faster than the paid-only era allowed.
